I’m not sure which service to book. Help!
No worries! Be sure to check out my Services & Prices page which explains each option. If you’re still unsure, drop me a line and I’ll do my best to help.
How do I know you’ll be right for my pet and their needs?
For every new client, I offer a free 15-20 minute meet and greet at your home. This is so I can introduce myself and meet your pet. I will ask questions relevant to the service you require, and you can ask me anything too. There’s never any obligation to make a booking after a meet and greet, but I do require one to make sure I’m a good fit for your needs and that your pet feels comfortable with me in their space.
When are you available?
Please consult my calendar (updated regularly) for availability. I can sit weekdays, weekends, evenings and nights. I am happy to take last-minute bookings if I am available, however I advise booking as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. The earliest start time available is 8.00am and the latest finish time is 10.30pm (if I am not staying overnight).
Will you send me pictures and updates of my pet so I know he/she is okay?
Absolutely – and videos too! I love to update owners on how their pet is doing and what they’re getting up to without being overbearing. I tend to send 2 or 3 updates per day for house-sittings (morning, afternoon and evening). If you prefer fewer messages or wish to enjoy your time away without being disturbed, that’s fine too – just let me know!
What service radius do you cover?
I’m based in central Hove, close to the seafront. I like to keep my client base local and accessible. See the below map for a rough idea of the areas of Brighton & Hove that I cover.

What’s the difference between booking you directly versus booking you through Rover?
In terms of the service I provide there’s no difference, however you will pay more booking through Rover. Rover charge a 15% fee to you, the owner, on top of my service price. Rover also takes an extra 15% fee from my side, so my rates are higher there. Contacting me directly through my website means you receive cheaper rates for all services, no booking fees, and you will never be charged “holiday rates”. Hooray!
How long do you expect to be absent from my home during a House-Sitting stay?
Generally speaking I never expect to be gone for more than 3 hours at a time; any work errands to run or exercise I need are done within 1-3 hour slots. If your pet cannot be left alone for two hours or more, this qualifies as “constant care” and will be charged at a higher rate. I am happy to provide constant care for up to 36 hours at a time. Please enquire for more details.
Do you work with anyone else, or will anyone else be entering my home whilst I’m away?
Never! I work alone and I will never invite guests or other animals into your home. I am serious about privacy and trust. You can rest assured that your space will be respected, kept clean and tidy and returned to you in the same condition as you left it.
I have a surveillance camera in my home. Is that okay?
Of course – all I ask is that cameras are disclosed before my stay, and that they are not pointing towards any personal spaces (i.e. the bathroom or where I will be working or sleeping). If a camera records audio, I may disable it when making any personal calls.
Will you post pictures of my dog on social media?
I may use a photo of your dog on my website, on Facebook, in marketing materials or in a review. I am careful never to include personal details or any identifying information about you or your home in photos that I share. If you would rather your pet remain anonymous that’s totally fine, just let me know.
Are you insured?
Yes. I have pet-sitting insurance valid as of 5th July 2025. This also covers dog walking.
Are there any dog breeds you don’t accept or tasks you won’t do?
I don’t have a blanket ban on any breed in particular! I assess each request individually as all dogs are different and therefore have different needs. Send me a message and I’ll gladly let you know if I can help. I cannot administer injections or work with needles.
My plans have changed and I need to cancel my booking. Will I still be charged?
I aim to be as flexible as possible when it comes to cancellations – life happens. In most cases I am happy to either refund your payment in full, or use it as credit towards a future service. Please note this is at my discretion and I reserve the right to withhold payment if less than 48 hours (for house-sitting) or 24 hours (for drop-ins and walks) notice is given.
Can I drop my dog off at your house to be looked after?
I do not offer a boarding or day care service at my home. All of my pet care services take place at your residence.
How do I pay for a booking?
I accept UK bank transfers. I will send an invoice for your booking with my bank details. Payment is due on receipt of the invoice, before the service starts, in order for me to hold the dates for you. For card payments and other methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, please sign up to Rover and book me through there. Thank you!
